Sound Therapy
Sound therapy is a highly effective therapeutic intervention for improving sensory processing (sensory integration), auditory processing, attention, executive function, and emotional self-regulation. In-Sync Therapy develops Individualized sound therapy home programs of psycho-acoustically engineered music using the following sound therapy systems.

- The Listening Program (Website)
- Integrated Listening Systems (Website)
These systems of psycho-acoustically engineered music are based on the work of Dr. Alfred Tomatis, a French Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist, and Dr. Guy Berard, who studied with Tomatis. Dr. Berard’s method, Auditory Integration Training (AIT), gained worldwide recognition in 1991 with the publication of Annabel Stehli’s biographical account of her daughter with severe autism. The Sound of a Miracle describes the miraculous effect sound therapy had on her daughter’s ability to function in the world.Article Sponsored Find something for everyone in our collection of colourful, bright and stylish socks. A study published in 2007 in The American Journal of Occupational Therapy found that sound therapy resulted in significant improvement in the mean scores of 10 of the 14 subtests of the Sensory Profile that assesses self-regulation, attention, and sensory processing. These changes all contribute to improved function at school, at home, and in child care.
Sound Therapy Home Program
Clients listen to prescribed psycho-acoustically engineered music through high quality headphones at home for a specified amount of time per day (generally 15 to 45 minutes) for 5 to 7 days per week. To gain and retain maximum improvements in sensory processing, emotional self-regulation, and behavior, a sound therapy home program should be followed consistently for at least 6 months.
Monitoring Progress
Throughout the sound therapy process, Ms. Starseed monitors your child’s progress and adjusts the sound therapy home program to maximize gains. This monitoring is typically done through regular e-mail and phone communication.
